Testimonials for Molly
As a first time mom, you try to prepare yourself as much as you can. But the feeling of nervousness from not knowing what to expect is there. And then came Molly. From the first day I met her, she put me ease. She took the time to get to know me and my wants for the big day. She made it a point to meet my husband and see what he wanted from the day. Every step of the way she communicated with us to ensure our questions were answered. And when the day came, she went above and beyond anything we could have ever expected. I have no question in my mind that the day went as smoothly as it did because of her. She calmed my fears when I felt something new; she inspired me when I thought I couldn’t go any more; she helped me stay on track when I thought I wanted to go another way; she held my hand (and so much more) when it was time to push to welcome our beautiful baby girl into this world. When you think of inviting a stranger to one of the most intimate moments in your life, you can be wary. But Molly was no longer a stranger, she was a friend and has since become a special part of our family. Molly gave to us so much more than we can ever give to her and for that I am forever thankful.

I couldn't have gotten through my birth without Molly. She was a constant source of support and encouragement leading up to my birth day and on it. I had a complicated pregnancy with gestational diabetes and Molly was great with offering me a calm spirit as I decided whether to induce or not. Induction ended up being the right choice for me and my family and she was there with me the night before and in the morning. She would have stayed all night but I was actually looking forward to some alone time! My husband is wonderful but not the most sensitive guy so Molly was able to help both of us! In the morning, my birth was moving so quickly that the nurses couldn't believe it and Molly actually saved the day. After the birth, all of the support staff and nurses were so impressed with Molly that they wanted her information to recommend her as a doula. That says something because often medical professionals are skeptical about doulas. She knew when to step in and when to let the western medical team step up. I unequivocally recommend Molly as the best doula. Her work is priceless and invaluable.

One of the best decisions that my husband and I made during pregnancy was having Molly be part of the birth of our son. Molly is a kind, wise, grounded woman and a mom herself. She provided us with thoughtful and caring mental, physical and emotional support during each stage of labor. I’m truthfully not sure what we would have done without her. She is the reason that our birth turned out exactly how we had hoped with a natural birth without any drugs. Molly was simply amazing during the heat of the moment – massaging my back and hands, suggesting new positions, and coaching me through each breathe of difficult contractions. She was so outstanding that one of the nurses commented that although she didn’t usually like working with doulas, she was very impressed by Molly and thought that I was lucky to have her by my side. She was right – I was very lucky. I highly recommend Molly without hesitation.

Molly provided my husband and I sweet caring support during our labor. It was my first. I had a detailed birthplan for a natural childbirth and with her support we were able to stick to it pretty closely. Somethings didn't apply because I had to be induced, but otherwise all of my wishes were respected. Having her in the room helped my husband and I stay level headed (not easy) and comfortable. I would definitely use her again.

Molly was absolutely wonderful. She clearly loves being a doula. She is very maternal and very kind. She has helped me feel okay about asking for help before, during, and after giving birth and has gone above and beyond to help me not only with the physical pains during labor but also, and more crucial for me personally, with the emotional tolls from surging hormones and certain triggers postpartum. Simply put, I couldn't have done it without her.

Testimonials for Jean

Jean was my night doula for the first two months..., which ended up becoming three months once we realized how warm, knowledgeable, sleep-saving, sanity-saving, and all-around indispensable she is!

While I was pregnant I thought the idea of a night doula was an absurd luxury, but after the baby arrived and my husband and I underwent the new-parent extreme sleep deprivation, we couldn't imagine life without Jean. We literally counted down the nights until she came.

Jean is such a wonderful night doula. She helped get our baby's circadian rhythms established from the get-go. She is nurturing but also laid-back, and I felt completely comfortable being a pjs-all-day mess around her in those vulnerable first couple months. She was the one I texted when I had any questions, concerns, or all-out freak-outs in that tender early stage.

Despite the aforementioned sleep deprivation, Jean and I chatted (a little) into the night whenever she arrived--she quickly became not just a doula but also a friend. She will forever be Auntie Jean to our little one. We feel grateful to have Jean in our lives and any family would be lucky to have her!

From the moment I met Jean, she radiated warm and positive energy. Any fears or concerns I voiced, Jean was there to put my mind to ease and boost my confidence.

When labor started progressing, Jean came right over. I felt safe just knowing she was by my side. Over the never several hours, she was there to comfort me during rushes, rub my back and shoulders, and remind me to breathe, hold my hand and offer me water and food to keep my strength up.

She was my rock and when I hit a point where I thought I couldn't go on, she reminded me that I was already doing it and getting closer to meeting our baby.

I had initially doubted whether I would need both a midwife and a doula for the birth, and I'm so grateful we decided to have Jean join us. She was truly essential for my well being, and I can't imagine a scenario where she wasn't there.

Jean was the overnight doula for our first child and we could not have made it through the first few months without her! She is very knowledgeable, dependable and really a kind and giving spirit. She is perfectly suited for this type of work. Her love for children and her warmth generally is always apparent. I would recommend her to anyone needing a nighttime doula.

Jean is fantastic, and I couldn't recommend her more highly for parents-to-be in search of a Doula. We worked with Jean recently for the birth of our first daughter at USCF. She is caring, kind, responsive, and knows her stuff. We felt informed, prepared, and listened to during pregnancy / pre-birth planning and she was a rock star during a challenging and long labor. We've had such a good experience working with her that we're continuing to work with her post birth for Post-Partum services, which has also been a great experience.

If you're looking for a Doula in SF, look no further.

"We have a secret in our culture and it's not that birth is painful, it's that women are strong."
