Molly Mercy

I originally trained with Natural Resources in San Francisco in 2013. In 2015, I trained with Doula Trainings International for further birth work and to become a postpartum doula. I am also a certified in Lactation and Childbirth Educator. I am currently a midwife in training with National Midwifery Institute and am working on becoming a Evidence Based Birth Educator. I have supported couples in Marin County and San Francisco prenatally through birth and postpartum since 2013.

 

I discovered my desire to become a doula during the birth of my first child in 1999 when I had the support of an amazing woman that made a very difficult birth not only managable but beautiful and inspiring. I have wanted to share that journey with other couples ever since.

 

Thanks to our midwife during my second child's birth and our doula, I learned that power of breath and self-enpowerment transform labor from something to be feared into something anticipated with excitement and filled with awe.

 

I love being a part of labor and birth. I am always overwhelmed by the beauty and miracle of birth and the strength and joy of moms as they meet their babies for the first time. I am humbled to be a part of such an amazing and intimate experience.

Jean Pauley

I love the science, process, and energy of birth and am devoted to providing families with knowledge, advocacy and comfort measures that engage the mind and body. The birth experience can and should be positive, loving and safe whether at home or in the hospital, and my goal is to be your experienced guide and advocate.  I believe that when birthing people have the knowledge they need they can approach their birth in a way that is powerful and fierce. 

 

A little history: I have been providing care and support for families for over 20 years in a variety of ways, beginning as a family mediator, educator and advocate. I became a birth and postpartum doula over four years ago, and since then have become a certified newborn care specialist, a midwifery student, a certified childbirth educator, an Evidence Based Birth Instructor and am in the process of becoming an herbal medicine practitioner.  I attend hospital births, home births, VBACs and c-sections and provide in-home childbirth classes. 

 

In addition to supporting births, I am a daytime postpartum doula, and work with newborns, including twins, preemies and babies with special needs.  I provide breastfeeding consultations, nursery preparation consultations, and newborn care classes.  I assist with helping families create a rhythm with baby so that families get the sleep they need.
